ABOUT LANDI

Hi! My name is Landi, I am the owner and creator behind Cultivated in Love.  First, and most importantly I am a spouse to Akwa & a mother to four beautiful kiddos: Eiley, Kiyah, Axell, and Zahra.

OUR MISSION

Cultivate means to inquire, develop, prepare, and use. To me this means creating both a business and an environment where we are constantly learning, growing, honoring our clients no matter who they are, and creating a space where love grows!

My goal is to show my children that no matter what life throws at them, they can follow their dreams and leave their own legacy.

  • Cooking with Grandma & Stepdad

Cooking has always been a passion of mine.  I remember countless hours of learning from both my grandmother and my step-father, there was something truly special about the quality time and the joy that it brought to see them light up as they taught me family secrets and mixing together fun ingredients. I lost my father at 16 and I continued to learn and grow in the culinary world to both cope with his death and keep his memory alive.

  • 2009

I graduated Culinary school in 2009 where I became passionate about hoursdevours and the “artsy” side of food.  I had always dreamed of owning my own business some day, but I put my passions on hold as I navigated an abusive relationship.

  • 2018

After taking the time to heal, I entered the workforce full time as a Domestic Violence Advocate and Community Outreach Coordinator at a local homeless shelter where I get to help people navigate their own healing and share my love for Jesus with them.

  • 2020

I have used charcuterie and cheese boards as a creative outlet for many years, but it wasn't until COVID hit that I decided to take my skills to the next level. My girls and I spent countless hours in the kitchen, learning new techniques, testing different “perfect bite” combinations, and having our own little design your own board competitions in our home. As we got better and more passionate, friends and family began to ask me to make boards for their events and special occasions. That's where Cultivated in Love began!

  • 2022

I took another leap of faith and entered the world as a full time business owner! My life truly came full circle when I met and fell in love with Akwa in December of that year and we welcomed our son, Axell in August of 2023 and our daughter, Zahra in September of 2024

  • Nature Girl

I absolutely love hiking and exploring.  There is something incredibly peaceful about being in nature, surrounded by mountains, and breathing in the fresh air! I am a huge fan of National Parks and like to visit them frequently.

  • Family Time

I am all about family, quality time,  and making things beautiful. I also enjoy reading, writing, Disney movies with my kids, working out with my Gym family, and trying new restaurants around town!

  • Letter & Light Co

Akwa and I also co-own a premium, custom Marquee company: Letter and Light Co. Sioux Falls, so we spent a lot of time at different events throughout our community.
